Polly Pierce
is a director/photographer based in Los Angeles & New York.
Raised by an architect and engineer, Polly was equally exposed to both creative and technical thinking from an early age, an environment that fostered her interest in visual storytelling, and eventually led to experimentation with photography and video.
Trained as a painter, she was initially drawn to the soft female forms and fantasy settings of the early Renaissance masters. As a photographer, she found inspiration in the raw yet highly sophisticated style of Helmut Newton.
Polly is foremost a modern digital filmmaker. Effortlessly embracing all aspects of her craft, she is equally proficient with lighting, camera, editing, sound design and animation. This application of her personal touch at every stage of the process ensures each film is imbued with her unique visual style, and distinctively hers. In her work she attempts to distill the purest essence of human emotion through the meticulous sculpting of sound and imagery in time.
A relative newcomer to commercial filmmaking, Polly has been sought and commissioned by such notable brands as Mercedes-Benz, Bacardi, and FashionTV.
